Recommendation
The Planning Commission will consider for approval a Plot Plan Review (PPR), Conditional Use Permit (CUP), and two Variances (VAR): A Plot Plan Review is requested to allow the construction of a new warehouse building or structure in excess of twenty-five thousand square feet in area, and a Conditional Use Permit to allow a specialized warehouse use consisting of a new energy storage facility. In addition, the applicant is seeking the following Variance requests: (1) to allow relief from the parking requirements since the project will not function as a warehouse; and (2) to allow the construction of a 12-foot-high wall, which exceeds the maximum allowable height of 8 feet per the Zoning Code, in order to meet the City’s noise control requirements in the City’s M2 Zone at 6920 E. Slauson Avenue.
